About NAYODE
(NAYODE) is a youth focused local non-governmental organisation (NGO) formed in 2010 by school leavers from Neno District. The organisation was registered with National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) 2015 and the NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA).
NAYODE is an established and recognized youth NGO in the promotion and protection of child rights, youth and women, and the encouragement of women and young peoples’ participation in issues that affect their lives. NAYODE intends to create the space and platform for advocacy, lobbying, research, and projects on Human Rights, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS), Climate Change, Mental Health, Early marriage, Governance and Child Rights and Basic Education. Currently, the organization has six programme areas namely Youth Empowerment, HIV/AIDS and SRHR, Livelihood and Security, Gender, Human Rights and Governance. basis. NAYODE has therefore developed this Strategic Plan for 2023 to 2028 to create future strategies to meet the increasing challenges the youth of Neno are facing.
The organization works with youth clubs and other local structures in its impact area of Traditional Authority (TA) Symon in Neno district. These young people and local structures work on voluntary basis. Multidisciplinary team
NAYODE is legally mandated to protect and promote rights of children,women and youth participation through the strategic plan, and therefore will take lead when implementing this strategic plan. While the Board being the policy holder, the Executive Director assisted by Programs Officer and administrative staff will lead the implementation. Outside the organisation, NAYODE will work in close collaboration with other stakeholders such as the District Council, the faith community, local leaders, local structures, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, the UN Family, Tilitonse Foundation, CISANET, WHH, CSO Networks or Coalitions and others.
